Frontier Bowls a Perfect Game with Radio Social

Frontier Bowls a Perfect Game with Radio Social

Bowling alleys aren’t always inviting places. Maybe you’re thinking of a dimly lit establishment stained with stale beer and sticky seats. Frontier, however, is revamping traditional bowling alleys as Radio Social, a bowling venue in the historic Stromberg-Carlson house, opens its doors to the public. Wanting to bring a fresh look to the bowling alley scene, the Radio Social team partnered with Frontier and other architects and designers. Frontier, with their expertise in glass installations, became the perfect partners to reshape the outdated alley image. Not only do Frontier’s windows provide ample lighting, giving Radio Social a spacious and inviting

Shedding Light on the Gearan Center

Shedding Light on the Gearan Center

Frontier’s Foray into Theater Lighting Though lights, camera, action! is a saying reserved for the big screen, there is perhaps no art form that relies more heavily on the lights part of the idiom than theater. When actors are performing in front of an audience, lights can’t be tweaked in postproduction. Everything is immediate. Lighting is essential. The work that Frontier Glass did on Hobart College’s performing arts center, the Gearan Center, took into consideration the nuance of that element. “Windows, especially in a place like upstate NY, are a critical design element that brings in warmth and light,” says

The Tinted Window That Keeps On Giving

The Tinted Window That Keeps On Giving

    1. Privacy Tinted windows preserve the sweetest of our human desires: the need for privacy. When we strive to focus on work, or want to listen to a new album uninterrupted, or need to take a deep breath before reentering the world, tinted windows provide a space where the individual – you-can be a peace, even for a moment. Even though privacy may be the most obvious use of tinted windows, these installations provide a wealth of other benefits.   2. Safety    Did you know that tinted windows are harder to break? Though nothing is totally impervious to shattering, the tinted

How Glass Can Make Employees Happier

How Glass Can Make Employees Happier

Dispelling the Office Stereotype:  Offices are having a hard time shaking off their stereotypes. You know the ones I mean. The desaturated cubicle. The water cooler periodically gurgling a bubble of oxygen. The flickering fluorescent light that has been clinging to life since 1989. This prevailing interpretation of office life has driven businesses to boldly redesign their space to encourage a more creative, lucid, and efficient environment. They’ve started with the foundation – replacing traditional fixtures with light conducive glass. Dispelling the conceptions of the dim, gray office, skylights and curtainwall windows provide natural lighting in spades. Allowing for natural

What’s So Great about Glass Handrails?

What’s So Great about Glass Handrails?

Want to know what’s so great about glass handrails? Two words. Inexpensive. Durable. Often, office managers have to cram their grand vision for their business into a tiny budget – forfeiting some necessary updates that can help the business grow. It can be a frustrating sacrifice. However, glass handrails, a sleekly designed nuance, can be a comparably affordable alternative to traditional handrails. By installing glass handrails, your business can keep costs low so you can splurge on that new printer – the one that doesn’t catch fire every time the ink runs out. Most handrails are installed for the long

Be Bold: How Glass Can Preserve Your Aesthetic

Be Bold: How Glass Can Preserve Your Aesthetic

Sometimes the things that make us stand out also make us a little embarrassed. But don’t cover it up. Let what makes you unique shine through. Your kitchen or living room table is no different. Table bases come in a variety of interesting builds. These builds are bold design statements that set a thematic standard for the rest of the room. Unfortunately, they often go covered up because traditional table tops throw shade onto that interesting aesthetic choice. The solution? Glass table tops provide the transparency necessary to highlight these unique tables. Not only do they maximize viewership, but they
